Fiber Optic Sensors

Fibre optic for: colour, measure & analogue test light barriers
Fibre-optics are optical components wich use the principle of total reflection to transmit light along a path of any optional shape. Each individual fibre comprises a core of highly refractive glass in a cladding of low refraction. The beam of light entering the glass core is conducted through the fibre by reflection at the boundary between core and cladding (step index fibres). Highly flexible fibre-optic cables are made of bundled step index fibres. At one end, the fibres are bonded in a sensing head, at the other in a plug. The face surfaces are polished optically flat. A sheath surrounding the cable affords protection against Mechanical, thermal or chemical damage.

Technical Data for FASOP-fibre-optic cables

The advantages of FASOP-fibre-optic cables:

High processing quality
The excellent distribution of the thin individual fibres offers optimum illumination, but it is the finish wich has the most important effect on performance. This encompasses the grinding and polishing of the fibre ends, wich exercises a considerable influence on light emission characteristics.

Selection of different fiber types
Whether ultraviolet or special infrared fibres are needed - ELTROTEC has the right fibres for your requirement.

Temperature resistance
The fibre-optic cables can be used with a special bonding for applications at ambient temperatures ranging from -40°C to +400°C.

Wide selection of standard sensing heads
A problem-oriented selection based on long years of experience guarantees the right fibre-optic cable for every conceivable application.

Special designs
Whether you require a special miniature solution or a fibre-optic cable integrated directly in a tool, ELTROTEC will come up with a solution.
